ADVENT  &  CHRISTMAS  GREETINGS:-

Dear Church Family,

Last Sunday we started our Advent Season. In My homily and Catechesis before receiving Communion, I explained briefly why we break Bread in the Catholic Chuch. It is my hope that it was worth your time. If it was, then please carry it a step forward - Participate in your own healing and the healing of the whole World.

In our "Why Catholic" session 9 we are invited to meditate and take action on the Sacrament of Healing = Penance = Reconciliation. This is the time to take this truth even more seriously, and carry it on because we live in a World often BROKEN AND CRUSHED by  SIN; individual as well as Communal. We have Sinned. And everyone can say to oneself "I have Sinned". John 1:8  The Love of God has been stained by our sins. This causes pain all over.

Freely and I repeat, FREELY let us open ourselves to the Grace of God. To the Healing Power of God revealed in the Sacreament of Reconciliation. As your Pastor, I am ready to walk with you all the 9 - 10 yards. I will be available always to assist you in anyway possible. Please call 410-362-2000 or E-mail me at stedwardsparish@yahoo.com or pastorshao@stedwardschuchmd.org  if  need be. And if you have any suggestions, we welcome them.

Because the 2 previous attempts to have a communal Reconciliation service did not yield fruit, this year we will not attempt it  unless otherwise. SATURDAYS  FROM 3:00 TO  3:45 P.M ARE OPEN FOR INDIVIDUAL CONFESSIONS WITHOUT ANY APPOINTMENT ALL OTHER TIMES WILL BE BY APPOINTMENT.

Fr. Shao C.S.Sp.

WHY  CATHOLIC:-

We encourage you to Participate in our "Why Catholic" Sessions. We read and reflect on the Scriptures and the teachings of the Church. We pray together, share each other's Faith experiences and discuss applying the Gospel values to our every aspect of our lives.

Meetings at the Church are Sunday immediately after the 10.00 a.m Mass - in the rectory  and Thursdays after the 9:00 a.m Mass and Evening at 7:00 p.m. We have groups which meet Tuesdays and other days Please contact the Parish office for more information.

"When the Faithful assemble in the same place, they are the living stones gathered to be built into a spiritual house" 1 Peter 2:4-5.

SOUP  AND SANDWITCHES:-

St. Edward's Church Family will be serving Soup and Sandwiches to those in need in the Rosemont Community Saturday Dec. 22, 2007 from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m Donations and Volunteers are most welcome.
