Title: PASSION (PALM) SUNDAY

WEB: VOL 28

 PASSION (PALM) SUNDAY
MARCH 16, 2008

SING HOSANA TO HRIST THE KING OF GLORY

Isaiah  50:4-7           [Christ's Suffering]

The Servant was persecuted and struck by his own people; he was spit upon and beatedn. He proclaims the true faith and suffers to atone for the sins of his people. Here we see a foreshadowing of the true servant of God.

Responsorial Psalm  22    [Christ's Abandonment ]

My  God, My God, why have you abandoned me?.

  Philippians 2:6 - 11          [ Humility]

Paul urgues us to humility by which we are made like Christ our Lord. He put off the majesty of his divinity and became man and humbled himself in obedience to the ignominious death on the cross.

ACCLAMATION:- Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless Glory.

Christ became obedient to the point of death, even death on a Cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name. Praise to you,  Lord Jesu Christ, King of endless Glory.

Matthew  26:14-27:66      [Christ's Passion]

Matthew portrays the passion and death of Jesus. Jesus gives his disciples his body and blood. Judas betrays him. Jesus is condemned to die on the cross.
