Title: EASTER 08

WEB: VOL 29

 EASTER
MARCH 22-23, 2008

CHRIST THE LORD IS RISEN ALLELUIA

Acts  10:34a, 37 - 43           [Salvation in Christ]

In his sermon Peter sums up the "good news" the Gospel. Salvation comes through Christ, the beloved Son of the Father, the annointed of the Holy Spirit.

Responsorial Psalm  118  [The Day of the Lord]

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

  Colossians 3:1 - 4          [Seek Heavenly Things ]

Look to the glory of Christ in which we share because our lives are hidden in him (through Baptism) and we are destined to share in the glory.

SEQUENCE (VICTIMAE PASCHALI lAUDES = HYMN TO THE VICTOR)

ACCLAMATION:- Alleluia, Alleluia, Christ, our Paschal Lamb, has been sacrificed; let us then feast with Joy in the Lord.  Alleluia, Alleluia.

John  20:1-9      [Renewed Faith]

Let us discover the empty tomb and ponder this mystery, and like Christ's first followers be strengthened in our faith.

Easter  Greetings:-

Dear Church Family,

A very Happy and Blessed Easter.

Yes, despite all that happened on Good Friday, THE LORD IS RISEN ALLELUIA.

Brothers and Sisters (Ndugu), it is important to note that "the Human Capacity for festivity arises from the ability to affirm all creation as good (recall the first reading for the Easter vigil Mass "And God saw that all was Very good". It arises from the ability to embrace in one resounding "YES" the length and bradth, the heights and depths of our experience in this World. What did you say "yest" to during Lent? What is our "yes" for at this very Moment? What will our "Yes" be for, in the future? We have a commitment to be an Easter People. Let us Rise with Christ Alleluia. HAPPY EASTER.
