Title: THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

WEB: VOL 31

 THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
APRIL 6, 2008

JESUS IS RECOGNIZED IN THE BREAKING OF BREAD

Acts  2:14, 22-33           [Reform your lives]

Peter proposes in short summary the name, Work, death and resurrection of our Lord. The Church teaches that although some of the authorities of Christ's time bear responsibility for carrying out his execution, this charge must not be laid against all the Jewish people of Jesus's day or of our own. We are all responsible for sin and for our Lord's suffering.

Responsorial Psalm  16   [Divine Security ]

Lord you will show us the path of Life.

  1 Peter 1:17 - 21          [ Love in Practice]

As followers of Jesu we have been ransomed by his blood. Through him we are believers in God who raised Jesus from the dead. Our faith and hope is in him.

ACCLAMATION:- Alleluia, Alleluia.   Lord Jesus, open the Scriptures to us; make our hearts burn while you speak to us. Alleluia, Alleluia

Luke  24:13-35      [Christ is Lord]

Two disciples who do not recognize Jesus walk with him. Cleopas tells about Jesus - his miracles, passion, death and resurrection, and the hope Israel had in him. Finally, in the breaking of bread they see that Jesus is with them, truly risen.
