Title: THIRTY SECOND SUNDAY YEAR C

THE DEAD WILL ONE DAY COME TO LIVE AGAIN??!!

2 Maccabees 7:1-2,9-14  2Thessalonians 2:16-3:5     Luke 20:27-38

Dear Friend, before you continue to meditate with me may I invite you to recall what I shared with you on the Feast of All Saints and All Souls Day!! Please Recall why would last Sunday's readings and the Challenge posed to us by Zacchaeus short in Stature but tall in generocity, a rich man who bankrupted himself on meeting Jesus. A sinner who converted on seeing Jesus. Why would he do all that?

As I meditated on the readings for this Weekend I had to put myself in an awkward situation. I am thinking of a visit to my doctor. He gives me the news that I am terminaly ill. What would be my reaction to this news? Something like "Oh! my God!! am I going to die? or would I say Hurrah, Hurrah Hoyee Hoyee! soon and Very soon I am going to meet my King, the door of Eternity is going to be open for me. Then jump with joy from my doctor's office singing for joy!! What would you do?

On the other hand I am just wondering why have we left the burrial ceremony to Business? Could it help us to go deeper to the meaning of life if we were standing there witnessing the body of our loved one being lowered into the grave!!

The readings for this weekend are full of Challenges to us. The episode presented in the First Reading of a Mother and her 7 Children being brutally tortured and executed one by one for refusing to renounce their Faith by eating Pork sends chills through us. Think of the answers these teenagers gave. Would I be able to do that?
